How WAYPOINT collects, uses and protects the information you share with us.
WAYPOINT (Waypoint & Co.) handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. This statement explains, in plain terms, what we collect and why.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website, we receive the details you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, telephone number if you include one, and the description of the journey, project or business you are writing about.
If you correspond with us afterwards, we hold that correspondence and the project or booking information needed to work with you.
Like most websites, basic technical information such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type is recorded by our hosting and the measurement tools described below. This information is not used to identify individuals.
How we use it
To respond to your enquiry and continue the conversation.
To plan, quote, coordinate and deliver travel arrangements, Studio projects or management work, including sharing what is necessary with the operators, hosts, suppliers and partners involved in your specific arrangements.
To administer our business — records, invoicing and service communications.
To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to marketing lists without your agreement.
Service providers
We use third-party services to run this website and deliver email — for example website hosting and transactional email delivery. These providers process information on our behalf, and some may store or process data outside Australia. We share only what is needed for them to perform their function.
Cookies and measurement
We use two measurement tools to understand how the website is used. Umami records page views and a small number of named events — such as an enquiry form being started or completed, or a contact link being clicked — without cookies and without building a profile of you. Google Analytics records similar usage information and may set cookies in your browser; you can block or clear these in your browser settings.
Measurement events carry only the form or page involved and, where relevant, the destination the enquiry began from. They never include your name, email address, telephone number or the text of your message.
Beyond this, the website uses only the storage necessary for it to function correctly.
Protecting your information
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure, and we keep it only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was provided or as required by law. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
When we may disclose information
We may disclose information where you have asked us to, where it is needed to arrange or deliver what you have engaged us for, or where we are required or authorised to do so by Australian law.
Access, correction and deletion
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable period.
