Expedition

Private expedition journeys into remote waters, planned around the region, the season and the vessels genuinely capable of working there.

The region decides the vessel.

Expedition travel is a capability question before it is a design question. Ice class, range, tender and helicopter arrangements, medical planning, permits and the people on board all change with the water you are entering. Specialist vessels and operators are selected on that basis, region by region.

WAYPOINT reads the itinerary, works with specialist operators suited to it, and coordinates the private air access to the gateway and the journey either side.

Air and sea as one journey

Getting there is part of the plan.

Most expedition gateways are a long way from a convenient airline schedule. Private aircraft into the gateway, the embarkation day, and the onward journey after disembarkation are planned together with the voyage.

How the arrangement works

  • Expedition voyages are operated by specialist third-party vessel owners and operators. WAYPOINT does not own or operate vessels.
  • Vessels are selected by region, ice or remote-water capability, season and the itinerary being planned.
  • Operating regions, dates and access remain subject to the vessel, permits, ice, weather and the operator's own assessment.

Start with the journey.

Tell us the water you have in mind, who is travelling and when. We will consider the season, the vessel and the air access around it.
